ESI Processing

ESI Processing Header

As outlined by the EDRM model, Processing of electronically stored information (ESI) should provide you with three key benefits: the ability to see the volume of data and types of documents contained within your overall collection, the ability to index, track and audit any object within the collection, and the opportunity to reduce the amount of data that will later move on to Document Review and Production.  Our Processing solution offers these benefits and much more.

Data Reduction

It is not unusual for our efforts in culling and filtering to result in reductions of intial data collected by 60% or more.

All electronic data collected is pre-processed by a data-reduction module through our Discovery WorkFlow® processing environment. Client-defined culling parameters are applied to the pre-processed data, and only the data that meets a potentially relevant standard moves on to full processing and a seamless integration with the ClarVergence® - CV5™ Review & Production Platform.

If, at any time, there is a need to vary the keyword list used in data filtering, all collected data remains accessible for updating or data sampling. The output of any revised effort once again makes the seamless transition into CV5™. If challenged, an automated audit trail is available to document and support the filtering criteria used, providing a defensible record of every document filtered in or out.

This integrated approach to data filtering and reduction provides greater flexibility and lower costs in a manner that is both automated and defensible.

ESI Processing

Built on a modular architecture, TCDI's proprietary ESI Processing platform (Discovery WorkFlow®) allows us to develop and implement different work modules based on your individual Processing needs. This workflow is automated; it feeds directly into the Review and Production database repository and provides audit log tracking from system intake through to Document Production.

Discovery WorkFlow can filter, de-duplicate and extract metadata and text from more than 390 file types, including Lotus Notes databases and Exchange email. Discovery WorkFlow also manages many advanced Processing applications, providing valuable cost savings and productivity enhancements within Document Review.

In addition to functional capabilities, Discovery WorkFlow also offers the benefit of speed and scalability by managing the distribution of work over a large farm of "server-soldiers." To put this into context, TCDI recently filtered 2 terabytes of data, and processed and loaded 1.3 terabytes of data with reviewers trained and reviewing inside a 10-day window.

All of TCDI's ESI Processing takes place within secure networks, and each client’s data is authenticated to a specific, segregated SQL servers.  Throughout the Processing phase, TCDI's staff performs multiple quality control checks and adheres to structured guidelines that ensure the security, integrity and availability of your data at all times.
