TCDI Attends The Sedona Conference’s Working Group 11 Annual Meeting

The Sedona Conference’s Working Group 11

The Sedona Conference’s Working Group 11 (WG 11) focuses on data security and privacy liability with the goal of developing guidance and best practice recommendations related to data security and privacy law.  This is done in order to help organizations minimize their legal exposure and adhere to compliance requirements related to an incident. WG 11 2019 Annual Meeting will be taking place February 28 – March 1, 2019 in Houston, Texas.  During the meeting there will be discussions around the following topics:

  • Reasonable security testing
  • Model data breach notification law
  • Data security and privacy issues in civil litigation
  • U.S. judicial enforcement of orders entered under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • Plaintiff’s bar roundtable
  • Advising clients with limited resources on cost-effective data security and privacy strategies
  • California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) penalities
  • Additional remedies for alleged Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Act Section 5 violations in the data security and privacy context
  • Data security and privacy challenges in artificial intelligence (AI) systems
