At TCDI, nothing happens by accident. Every partnership we build, every service we deliver, and every piece of software we develop is carefully planned with our clients in mind.
This purposeful approach shapes how we support corporate legal departments and law firms with practical solutions that address their real-world challenges. We take the time to understand our clients’ unique needs, ensuring our legal services and technology make a meaningful impact on their daily operations.
This month, we wanted to better understand how our team embodies intentionality throughout their daily work to deliver the best outcomes for their clients. So, we asked our colleagues from multiple departments to share what being intentional means to them. Here’s what they had to say:

John O'Connor | President
Strategic Solutions Team
To me, the idea of intentionality, simply put, is just living on purpose, with purpose. In today’s hyper-paced, information overloaded world, life often happens to us, and we just go along for the ride thinking, “What will be, will be…Que sera sera.” We often feel out of control with so much of life that we tend to micromanage the insignificant parts just to feel like we have control. Intentionality changes that.
Intentionality requires clear vision, total commitment, and hard work, but in return, it provides clarity, ownership, and mission. Living with intentionality means that life doesn’t happen to you – you happen to life. It means that you own outcomes – good or bad, but you do own it, rather than living in a chance circumstance.
In business, intentionality is crucial for achieving success in all areas from development to communication to client services. It’s the difference between a job and a mission. It’s developed in a culture that actively shapes and nurtures a work environment that promotes collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity.

Sue Fong | Director, Legal Services
Business Development Team
What intentionality means to me is contributing to a bigger goal, focusing on things that truly matter, and cultivating meaningful relationships. Over the past year, I have experienced firsthand what it means to work with intentionality at TCDI.
For us, being intentional means staying present, fostering deep connections, and valuing quality over quantity. This mindset is why so many have chosen to work with, and for, TCDI over the years. When supporting our clients, we are committed to understanding their challenges, priorities, and how we can best serve them. This same intentionality extends to our internal teams, where we focus on building relationships that align with our values and long-term goals.

John Ballard | Software Development Manager
Research & Development Team
Intent based leadership empowers team members to take initiative and make decisions in their sphere of work. It is the individual’s job to communicate the plan and why, allowing leaders to give input and consent. Meanwhile, leaders communicate organizational goals and set clear overarching objectives while giving team members the ability to decide how best to achieve them.
In order for this to work, clear priorities about organizational objectives must be presented and team members must be technically competent. We must share information and our thoughts, which brings transparency to the decision-making process. The individuals act on their own authority, which reduces the decision-making time and increases responsiveness.
We use this intentional approach in our software development group to develop solutions for our clients. The organizational objectives and goals are communicated, and specific software projects are handed to the development team members to complete. The team members complete the work and seek out additional information from business process owners and clients to implement the best solution possible.

Rebecca Cameron | Project Director
Client Services Team
I strive to be intentional in my role by approaching my responsibilities with a clear focus on delivering value for our clients, fostering collaboration, and driving meaningful outcomes. My highest priority is to ensure that I am providing value to the client relationship by actively listening to their needs, asking the right questions, and anticipating potential challenges to provide tailored, high-quality service.
Within TCDI, cross-departmental cooperation is key to developing meaningful solutions. Whether we are streamlining existing processes or leveraging new technology, I try to be purposeful in my interactions by fostering collaboration, ensuring alignment with business goals, and proactively addressing challenges to ensure continuous improvement.

Christine Kluge | Office Assistant
Administrative Team
At TCDI, I’m the first face you see when you walk through the front doors, quickly followed by our residential four-legged companions that keep me company throughout the day. Along with making sure everyone is checked in for security purposes, I also help manage a number of administrative tasks, including incoming and outgoing shipments and supporting finance with accounts receivable as needed – all while paying extra attention to details.
By making sure these things run smoothly, I help the TCDI team focus on what they do best without needing to worry about the logistics. To me, being intentional helps everyone succeed while maintaining the culture that makes TCDI truly special.

Sandy Middlebrook | QA Director
Quality Engineering Team
Being intentional in our client service means adopting a proactive, thoughtful, and client-focused approach. This involves anticipating client needs and addressing potential issues before they arise, rather than merely reacting to problems. It requires taking the time to understand each client’s unique circumstances, preferences, and pain points, and tailoring our support efforts to meet those specific needs. By consistently seeking feedback and striving for continuous improvement, we demonstrate a genuine commitment to enhancing the client experience and building long-term, trust-based relationships.
When we approach testing intentionally, we ensure that our solutions are robust and dependable, while also fostering a quality-driven culture within our team. This focus not only guarantees that our products effectively meet user needs but also enhances their distinction in the market.
In supporting the various teams at TCDI, we balance technical expertise, leadership, and collaboration while fostering a culture of quality and service excellence. By integrating these elements, we create a supportive, high-performing environment where teams are empowered to deliver their best work, drive innovation, and achieve sustained success.

Joe Anguilano | Managing Director
Strategic Solutions & Digital Forensics Team
I bring intention to TCDI by acting with purpose in every interaction. This begins with honesty, transparency, and empathy as I confirm shared goals, ask tough questions, and collaborate across teams to tackle our industry’s toughest challenges.
Whether we’re handling modern attachments, implementing new remote collections technology, or analyzing legal operations data from multiple systems to gain insights, I foster an intent-based culture by encouraging each team member to articulate their “why,” take ownership of decisions, and solve problems collaboratively. Through empowerment and autonomy, I strive to create an environment where everyone has the confidence to act decisively and with purpose.

Theresa Zamecnik Kozak | Project Director
Document Review Team
In my role, intentionality is key to providing professional service, delivering superior results, and fostering long-term relationships with clients and colleagues. By asking the right questions and actively engaging in dialogue with my clients, I can tailor eDiscovery reviews to the myriad of different challenges, concerns, and objectives for each matter, resulting in an exceptional work product.
This same dedication shapes my approach to teamwork. Through actively participating in cross-team collaboration and being willing to always lend a hand or fresh perspective, I help strengthen the overall success of our team and organization. By intentionally providing service, solutions, and support, I contribute to a positive and productive work environment, where both clients and colleagues can thrive.
